NEW YORK -- The Yankees will present a $1 million check to the Salvation Army on Tuesday night, a donation announced by the club last week after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast.

Team president Randy Levine, COO Lonn Trost and outfielder Matt Lawton will make the presentation to Major Guy Klemanski, general secretary for the Salvation Army of Greater New York.

"The Yankees recognize the need for people from all over the world to assist in the recovery and the rebuilding of areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina," Levine said.

They're right! Thanks Yanks!
