Corps Visits
I enjoy visiting corps throughout the territory. I stopped by the Columbus Chapel at Worthington Woods Corps a week or so ago. I've been there before and am again impressed with the ministry of Envoys Greg and Keren Tuck. CSM Norm Raymond and YPSM Jackie Raymond were there as well. What a team!
The faithful Salvationists are fully engaged and serving Christ with everything. They weren't trying to impress an old corps officer. They were simply telling the story of God at work among them. Their hopes are sky high and their vision for reaching the neighborhood and beyond for Christ is marked with holy love and confidence in the One who will make it happen.
The road continues to be a challenge, but they are staying the course. They also give huge credit to all the members and supporters of the corps. It's more than a team. It's a community. Ive learned that the destinations of life are not necessarily the object of God's plan, but the journey. The Salvationists of Worthington Woods are on the ride of their life, learning, living, and loving all the way.
"When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, [2] and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. [3] He told them: 'Take nothing for the journey--no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra tunic.'" Luke 9:1-3 (NIV)
