Renewal Convocation
Each year, the Eastern Territory recognizes their twenty and thirty year officers with a Renewal Convocation on the campus of Asbury Theological Seminary. Beautifully organized by Majors Ed & Darlene Russell with Major Deborah Goforth, it has become a welcomed opportunity for fellowship, learning and renewal.
The convocation concluded today with a worship service where many gave their testimony of the continuing grace of God in their lives. Those who attend are the faithful remnant who have, by the strength of God, been able to maintain their officership through the years. As a leader in the territory, I am proud to be associated with them. They have each served well and glorified God with their "love and faithfulness."
Did I say that it has been easy for them? If you think so, consider having your naivete quotient realigned. Their journey has been full of grace and that makes them graceful.
"Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart." Proverbs 3:3 (NIV)
