Pearl Harbor

As you have heard on the news, today is the 64th anniversary of the horrific bombing and attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. We visited there last year at about this time. The location is a poignant reminder of the affect of war. The site today is a National Park and monument to those who lost their lives defending our country. It was particularly moving to be there.

Wars continue to plague mankind around the world in more places than Iraq. I've heard it said that wars would turn quickly to peace if mothers were the negotiators. Often, we are given the greater cause more important than those who lose their lives. A simple answer here will not serve us.

Perhaps the Pearl Harbor anniversary remembered will prompt our reasonable thinking and action when war is indicated. Lord, please be with our people in harms way around the world. We don't want another memorial.

Matthew 24:6 (AMP)
"And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened or troubled, for this must take place, but the end is not yet."
