I'm intrigued by top ten lists and would probably have a few different ideas than what is listed here. What would you include that isn't listed in the context of our faith and our movement?
1 Corinthians 2:13 (MSG)
13 "We don't have to rely on the world's guesses and opinions. We didn't learn this by reading books or going to school; we learned it from God, who taught us person-to-person through Jesus, and we're passing it on to you in the same firsthand, personal way."

It will be interesting to see how Time and/or Newsweek's top 10 news lists compares to this. Many of the same things will be listed on it, i.e. Tsunami, Katrina, Terri Schiavo, etc. I do not believe that the release of The Chronicles of Narnia was worthy to be listed on that, but I suppose in the context that the magazine is looking for, it "fit the bill."
I am also intrigued by news predictions for the upcoming year. Maybe that will give me something to blog about in the next day or so.
Major Munn, may I make an addition to your list, to #2? Also, the 125th Anniversary Celebrations in Philadelphia? :-)
To go along with this post, I was pleased to see Bono listed and Bill and Melinda Gates along with him as Time's Persons of the year for their campaign against third world debt and for education.
Although, Bono would not be considered an evangelical, he certainly is one of the most influential Christians on the world stage. I will read the CT article. I hope they mention Bono in it.
I would love to see us have a top ten list for 2006 which would include the Army opening up some different styles of corps. I would also love to see us engage the emerging church.
Stumbled on your blog by accident tonight and read your most recent post. This is Captain Susan (Hayes) McElroy and my husband and I are serving as corps officers in Spartanburg, SC with our three boys Kyle, Carter and Cameron. I can think of a top ten list for people, such as yourself, who gave of themselves that I might know the Christ I serve today.
1. Selfless
2. Inspiring
3. Patient
4. Focused
5. Honest
6. Loving
7. Compassionate
8. Firm
9. Diligent
10.Affirming
Many times in our ministry we do not see the fruits of our labor. Thought I would take a moment to say thank you for giving to the Lord as a young Captain. I am a life that was changed!
Blessing to Mrs. Knaggs!
From the Program Secretary to ctnyyfan to atgnat to L Ashcraft and the surprise comment from Susan, we have much to think about and be grateful for.
Look out 2006!
