Candidates Seminar
This weekend the territory is sponsoring the Candidates" Seminar and Project 117 Preview. Both are well attended and are enjoying wonderful worship and learning experiences. God has been present in His glory.
Last night along with many worship opportunities, Major Mark Tillsley, the Training Principal, gave the message. He's always on target, being led by the Spirit and personally equipped for the responsibility. Any time you have a chance to hear him speak (give the message), be there. He spoke from 1 Peter 5:1-11 and his message was about being strong, firm, and steadfast.
Tomorrow morning will have eternal significance. I'm believing God.
1 Peter 5:10 (NIV)
10 'And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."

This testimony could probably be repeated countless times, but God laid on my heart the calling to officership at the Candidates Reatreat in 1998. Jessica & I had prayed rather boldly, that our hearts would be open and that God would confirm his will for us, and he did.
It's an incredible weekend which God uses over and over to speak to the faithful. We will continue in prayer for all the events on the program.
And so it was...and so the Holy Spirit ministered...and so we march onward...
The Albany New Hope Corps had four delegates there, and today I wore my session pin on my uniform as a prompt to pray for them, and all who are seeking God's will. I also remembered the seminars in which I took part as a delegate and as a cadet. It's good to uncover those touchstones of calling now and then.
