Michael's Birthday

Our Michael A. Honsberger SP4 - US Army, is twenty-seven today. He's serving our country in Afghanistan just now as a combat medic. We miss him.

He's a great guy and we are very proud of him. He was working as an E.M.T. in the NY area when the World Trade Buildings were attacked, and maintained his determination to do what he could to forestall another such attack. Not distracted by media or anti-military dialogue, he forged to meet his convictions with personal action.

He served in Iraq for a period and spoke to us about the great work that the military is doing there, building schools and restoring hospitals and such. He concluded it was all worth the risks involved. He has inside information.

Whether we agree with the position of military involvement or not, we're celebrating Michael's life and looking forward to his safe return home. Pray with us for Mike and those who are serving in harm's way.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, 24 since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." Col. 3:23-24

Wow! I don't know if he remembers me from Star Lake or not, but if he does, and if you have the opportunity, please pass on my birthday greetings and a hearty "Hello!" and "Thank you for serving!"

We, too, are proud that Michael is a part of our family. He is a good man, God has blessed him and us. I have taken the liberty of re-publishing the picture and part of your post on my web site to honor Michael's service.

Hi Michael
I'm very proud of you too... Somewhere we are relatives because your mother was a Lance, descendant of our ancestor Lalancette.
Your cousin, Daniel
